Heads-up, Brandon riders: those slick new e-bikes sure look fun, but there’s a growing safety alert you don’t want to scroll past. Reporters at Tampa Bay 28 are warning that lithium-ion powered e-bikes and e-scooters are posing a real fire risk if their batteries get damaged or charged wrong.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind: buy only e-bikes approved by a nationally recognized testing lab, don’t charge them overnight or on flammable surfaces (hello, pillows and couches), and if your battery shows damage or swelling, don’t wait, get it replaced. Whether your kid just got one for the holidays or you’re thinking of trading in your bike for something “fancier,” these tips could save more than just your commute.

If your dashboard flashed a low tire pressure warning this morning, you’re not the only one. Florida did its Florida thing and dropped from the 80s to the 40s in two days, and your tires are still deciding which way to spin.

When temps fall, the air inside your tires slows down and bunches up, so that comfy 35 PSI can look more like 28. Totally normal, just a sign your car feels the chill too.

This is why a small portable tire pump is worth keeping in the trunk. Wawa has free air, sure, but who wants to stand in the 50s or wait in a line that wraps around the pumps?

Check your tires, top them off, and grab a light jacket. The “cold front” won’t stick around long.
