Now That the Fun is Over
The holidays may be over, but that Christmas tree sitting in the corner or by the curb still has one more purpose.
Instead of tossing it in the trash, The Brandon Buzz is encouraging our community to recycle live Christmas trees this year. When recycled properly, trees can be turned into mulch or compost that benefits local parks, landscaping, and green spaces rather than taking up space in a landfill.
Residents looking to recycle their trees can click HERE for more information. In most cases, trees must be completely free of lights, ornaments, tinsel, and stands, and some programs ask that larger trees be cut into sections.
This is a simple way to start the new year with a positive impact. Recycling your Christmas tree helps reduce waste and supports sustainability efforts right here at home. The Brandon Buzz is proud to encourage neighbors to take this small step together and keep our community a little greener as we head into the year ahead.
