February is All About Hearts
Valentine’s Day is about love, but your smartwatch might be looking out for your heart

February is known for Valentine’s Day, but it’s also American Heart Month. So while you’re busy swooning hearts this weekend, let’s make sure yours is in good shape too. Which is why a smartwatch might be the smartest Valentine’s gift you can give…or get.
These days, your watch doesn’t just tell time. It reminds you to move, tells you to breathe, and now it might be the friend that tells you to call a doctor. Local cardiologists say smartwatches are becoming a helpful early warning system for heart health, alerting users to irregular rhythms, unusually high or low heart rates, and other changes that can send people to the doctor before small problems turn into big ones.
That said, not every notification means something’s wrong. Stress, caffeine, lack of sleep, or sprinting across the parking lot because you forgot something at Publix can all trigger alerts. Doctors say the key is watching for patterns, not panicking over a single warning.
If alerts keep happening or you’re feeling chest discomfort, shortness of breath, dizziness, or just feel off, that’s when it’s time to get checked out. Think of the watch as a smoke detector. It warns you, it doesn’t diagnose you.
Heart disease is still one of the leading health concerns in the country, which is why doctors keep coming back to the basics. Move more. Eat better. Get some sleep. And maybe don’t let Brandon traffic be your daily cardio.
So enjoy the chocolates this weekend. Just maybe take a walk afterward. Your heart will appreciate it, and your smartwatch will probably stop yelling at you.
Quick Plumbing Tips With the Bear Who Cares
Garbage Disposal Troubleshooting in Brandon with Kuma Plumbing and Drain

Some things absolutely need a plumber. But there are also some things you can probably handle on your own, or at least check before you make that call. If it’s an emergency and you’ve got water spraying everywhere, call Kuma. But if time is on your side, there are a few things you can check before waving the white flag.
One of those non-emergency issues is a garbage disposal that’s not working. Now, some of these tips require a bit more manual labor, and if you’re uncomfortable with any of it then call Kuma and one of their highly trained staff members will swing by and take care of it. But before you do, here are a few things worth checking.
Check the reset button.
This is often the number one problem with garbage disposals, and with the average charge for a plumber just to show up being around $75, that’s one expensive step to skip. The first step is to locate the reset button at the bottom of the disposal. On most models, this button is red. If it has popped out, press it back in to reset the unit, then turn on the disposal to see if it works. It’s also worth checking for a tripped breaker.
Use an Allen wrench to clear the jam.
After the reset button, jams are usually the next problem. Most models have a spot at the bottom of the unit where you can insert a ¼ inch Allen wrench to rotate the blades and clear the jam.
Check the power.
Yes, your garbage disposal is plugged in. People store a lot of things under their sink, and sometimes the plug gets knocked out. The last thing you want to do is pay a plumber to plug your disposal back in.
Check for leaks.
No, this won’t get it working again, but it’ll let you know if this has gone from DIY to calling in the experts.
At the end of the day, plumbing should be left to the pros, but knowing the basics will keep you from throwing money down the drain. Which, consequently, will have you calling a plumber. And when you make that call, make sure it’s to Kuma Plumbing & Drain. They’re the bear that keeps Brandon flowing. (I could do this all day 😃)

Tampa Is Getting a Premier League Takeover
Premier League Fan Fest brings big match energy to Tampa as soccer’s popularity keeps growing across the Bay

Soccer fans rejoice. If your Saturday mornings already involve coffee, breakfast, and yelling at the TV before most people are awake, this one’s for you. The Premier League Mornings Live Fan Fest is coming to Tampa, turning Armature Works into a two-day soccer celebration this spring.
The event takes place on April 18 and 19 and brings thousands of fans together to watch Premier League matches live on big screens while the Premier League Mornings show broadcasts on location. Think of it as matchday energy without the long flight overseas. Fans from different clubs show up in full kits, games run throughout the morning, and the whole thing turns into one big soccer gathering along the riverfront.
There are usually special guests, live entertainment, interactive games, and plenty of friendly trash talk between supporters who normally only argue online. The event is free to attend but requires tickets, and spots tend to go quickly once registration opens.
Soccer has been steadily growing around Tampa Bay, and events like this show just how big the fan base has become. Between international tournaments coming to the United States and local teams gaining momentum, the sport is no longer niche. It is becoming part of the local sports culture.
So get ready for a weekend where grown adults are cheering at seven in the morning, wearing scarves in Florida heat, and explaining the offside rule to confused friends. If you know, you know.
