Putting Community to Work

In February 2020, 28-year-old Cieha Taylor vanished in Plant City. Her car was discovered in a scene that should have triggered immediate action—engine running, driver’s door wide open, cell phone on the ground, parked across a railroad track. Instead, the vehicle was turned off, moved aside, belongings locked inside, and no family was contacted. No search was launched. No urgency.
Five years later, her family is still searching for the truth.
Sadly, Cieha’s case is not unique. Across the country, critical first hours in missing persons cases are often mishandled. Scenes are cleared too soon, evidence disappears, and families are left without information when action matters most.
Cieha’s Law is a common-sense proposal that could prevent this from happening to others. It would require:
Treating abandoned or suspicious vehicles as potential crime scenes until cleared by supervisors or forensic teams.
Conducting perimeter searches within two hours.
Notifying immediate family within two hours.
Oversight from a Volunteer Missing Persons Committee to ensure accountability.
If these measures had been in place in 2020, Cieha’s story might have had answers—maybe even justice. This isn’t just one family’s fight. It’s about protecting every family’s right to be informed, supported, and respected when danger is clear.
We’re calling on the Brandon community to stand with Cieha’s loved ones. Read the petition. Sign it. Share it. Every signature is another voice demanding change.

Goodbye to Cherry’s, Hello to Nueva Cantina

The old Cherry’s spot at Brandon Crossings Plaza is about to get a glow-up, and it’s bringing tequila. Nueva Cantina is rolling into town this October, and if you’ve ever been to their Tampa or St. Pete locations, you already know this isn’t your average chips-and-salsa joint.
Picture it: bold, colorful walls, an indoor/outdoor bar that practically dares you to order “just one” margarita, and a menu that reads like a love letter to Mexican street food. Executive Chef Danny Jimenez is behind the magic, think slow-cooked barbacoa that melts in your mouth, street tacos loaded with flavor, and, for the brave (or indecisive), their legendary 12-taco tour platter.
But here’s what really sets this place apart: the Brandon location will be employee-owned. That means every taco, every margarita, and every perfect plate of nachos is served by someone who has a real stake in making sure you come back for more.
So, Brandon, get ready. That familiar corner by I-75 and the Brandon Exchange Mall is about to smell like sizzling carnitas, fresh cilantro, and the kind of good time you can’t get from a drive-thru.
If you’ve looked outside lately, you might be asking yourself—
Is my roof ready?

Don’t guess. Contact the pros.
