Lighting the Way Forward

The lights have been packed up, the floats have headed home, and Brandon has officially wrapped up year two of the Brandon Parade of Lights. And just like that, what started as a good idea is quickly turning into a full-blown tradition.
This parade was never just about blinking lights and holiday music. The real intent was to bring Brandon together. Families lined the streets. Kids waved like celebrities. Local businesses showed up, not to sell, but to be seen as part of the community they serve every day. It felt less like an event and more like a neighborhood block party with better decorations.
That’s what makes this parade special. It connects residents, small businesses, and organizations in a way that feels genuine. No big production energy. No corporate gloss. Just Brandon showing up for Brandon.
Two years in, the momentum is real. You can feel it. Traditions don’t happen overnight, but this one is clearly finding its footing. If year two is any indication, the Brandon Parade of Lights isn’t just celebrating the season. It’s lighting the way forward for what community events here can look like for years to come.
It’s Party Time
Holiday season is officially party season. From office blowouts to New Year’s Eve extravaganzas, your social life is booked. But no party is complete without a 360 photo booth. If it’s not spinning, filming, and making everyone look cooler than they actually are, what are we even doing?

This Is the Cookie That Defines Christmas

Every holiday season, Brandon comes together for many things. Parades. Decorations. Traffic complaints. And now, the most important debate of them all.
What is the best Christmas cookie?
Sugar cookies made a strong case. Frosted, sprinkled, shaped like things that sort of resemble trees and snowmen. Festive? Yes. Easy cleanup? Absolutely not.
Chocolate chip showed up as the people’s champ. Warm, reliable, and impossible to argue with. Not flashy. Not seasonal. But dangerously effective.
Then there’s gingerbread. And this is where the debate ends.
Gingerbread cookies don’t just taste like Christmas. They are Christmas. You can eat them. You can hang them on the tree. You can build an entire house out of them and pretend you won’t snack on the roof later. No other cookie does that.
They smell like the holidays, look the part, and somehow manage to be dessert, decoration, and entertainment all at once. That kind of versatility deserves respect.
So, after much discussion and zero formal voting, Brandon has spoken.
The best Christmas cookie is gingerbread. Case closed. Plates cleared. Holiday spirit secured.

If you’ve ever wondered why balancing work and home feels harder than it should, this is the kind of issue they’re trying to fix.
