The County Lends a Helping Hand
Brandon homeowners, this one’s actually useful. The county is rolling out its Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program to help people fix up the homes they already live in. So if your roof has been side-eyeing you, your A/C is on its farewell tour, or you’ve got safety or accessibility issues you keep putting off, this program might cover it. It’s for owner-occupied homes, you’ve got to have lived there a bit, and it’s focused on keeping people safely in their houses.
Pasco County ran something similar, so yes, this is a good time to call some of those home service providers we tell you about. If you don’t remember who they are, don’t worry, keep scrolling.
The county is even holding community meetings where staff will help you fill out the application and tell you what to bring. No guessing, no getting rejected over paperwork. If you’ve been saying, “We’ll fix it next year,” this is your sign. Grab your documents and go. Free money to fix your house doesn’t pop up every week.
